A comprehensive view of what and how to implement the TOC solution for moving from a Make to Stock (MTS) to a Make to Availability (MTA) environment.
Unlike MTS environments, MTA does not rely on replenishment to a forecast. Where the MTS can be regarded as push-type production and end products are sold from inventory, an MTA solution aims to reduce shortages allowing for a significant increase in sales and freed up capacity. A truly Decisive Competitive Edge.
MTA gives potential clients the reliability of fast response time without the burden of surplus inventory, thus protecting cash flow without compromising sales.
The MTA solution is derived from the Theory of Constraints and does not require drastic change to implement.
Dr. Eli Goldratt takes you through the necessary steps to understand, intuit and fully experience the Strategy and Tactic tool to move from Make to Stock (MTS) to Make to Availability (MTA).

Although the really hard work after developing the S&T's is to implement, undoubtedly Eli frames this all up to help with base knowledge transfer, provides a common view for focused effort and takes us through major "red flag" areas. As ever, really well delivered.

The GWS-MTA offers significant information about the TOC distibution solution that I have not seen elsewhere, particulary with regard to last two webcast segments where Goldratt discussed the vital role of sales in the MTA implementation to sell the new distribution concepts to the client/retailer/distributor and the importance of maintaining protective capacity during a period of rapid growth. The first three segments of the webcast discussed how to implement the distribution solution.

Absolutely fantastic!!! Whilst we are a MTO/ETO company, some of the content is applicable and other sections could easily be modifed to use time buffers instead of stock buffers to manage things. I wish we were an exact fit so we could start to use MTA "out of the box".
