The Choice
In this book, Goldratt once again presents his thought provoking approach, this time through a conversation with his daughter Efrat, as he explains to her his fundamental system of beliefs - a pragmatic life philosophy.

To think about... Chapter 16
- As we already mentioned, by thinking clearly, thinking cause and effect, we would like to find the causes for effects that we observe in reality.
- In our attempt to find the real causes, we saw that one trap that we need to be careful not to stumble into is tautologies. Another, very different trap, is our tendency to blame. As much as I thought that I am above it, my father's test was right in my face. When thinking about what made those managers behave the way they did, the first thing that jumped to my mind was to blame them. I didn't look into the circumstances to see if something there could explain their behavior. I immediately assumed that it was all their fault.

7. Managing People - Communication and Team Building
by Dr. Eliyahu M. Goldratt
The essential topics required to manage people are well known: conflict resolution, empowerment, team building, etc. What is not well-known is that the TOC logical approach to derive solutions for the more "tangible" topics is equally effective at providing powerful methods to manage people. In the long term this program probably provides the most important know-how.

Breaking Barriers – an offer to academics, startups and funding entities | top
Send TOC Weekly to a Friend >
Many reputable professors have been real TOC Champions in the Academic community. The Body of Knowledge of TOC has grown significantly especially in the last few years. This knowledge should be made available and shared with the Academic Community. We, at the Goldratt Group, want to acknowledge that and reestablish the strong and growing relationship with the academic community as it used to be in the past.
Dr. Eliyahu M. Goldratt has begun this initiative by presenting TOC as a systematic approach to significantly impacting the success of Startups. Being Startups the smallest representation of a business, it becomes a natural place for individuals to see, learn and internalize the TOC holistic solution. It becomes even more attractive for professors in Business Schools, since it offers the chance to create a real competitive edge for the Institution, by bringing real life case studies and its holistic management approach to their teaching offerings.
In October, Dr. Goldratt will be speaking LIVE to entrepreneurs, investors, professors and universities. We have a limited number of FREE seats available to Academics in Business Schools interested in incorporating TOC as part of their teaching. Please sign up or contact us in advance for your reserved seating. The seats for Dr. Goldratt's presentation will be distributed on a first-requested-first-served basis.
Here are the dates and locations for scheduled presentations:

Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) hosted an interactive guest session for its students on September 17, 2010. The special session was taken over by Radhakrishnan Nair, Chief Human Resource Officer, Tata Steel...
... Nair spent some time interacting with the students and encouraged them to not just jump onto the corporate bandwagon, but to think for themselves. He said, “Be better human beings first, then take on whatever role you have decided to play - whether that of a student or a manager”...
...He mentioned that evolved HR policy would be in accordance with the theory of constraints...
