Letter from the Chairman of TOCICO - About the International Conference | top

Letter from The Board Chairman of the
Theory of Constraints International Certification Organization

Dear TOC Colleague,

Ten years ago Dr. Eliyahu Goldratt or Eli to his many, many friends, students and kindred spirits, called on us to convene in Atlanta to discuss the future of TOC. The event had to be re-scheduled due to the tragedy in the city of New York on September 11, 2001. It is befitting that the call has once again gone out to convene in the city of New York, June 13 to June 16, 2011.

Although much uncertainty still exists in the world, the future of TOC has never been brighter. The positive impact we are having across the globe is truly impressive and the rate of adaption increasing exponentially.

Once again Eli has graciously donated his time to upgrade the TOC community with his latest development of knowledge and sharing of insights on how to effectively implement the necessary changes. The first two days are exclusively set-aside for Eli. What he will specifically talk about no one knows, however we do know from past experience, it will be stimulating, innovative, inspiring and above all challenge all of us to make the world a better place.

The third and fourth days will focus on learning from the experiences of practitioners, companies and academics on how TOC is improving their organizations. Recognizing the incredible challenge of access to affordable Health Care in all of our lives we have introduced dedicated sessions focusing on the tremendous need for improvement. Having reviewed the results achieved by all of these companies, I am left with a feeling of immense pride and at the same time humbled by the depth and breadth of TOC.We are blessed with the willingness of our community sharing their strategies and approaches that we can in many cases adapt to our own companies.

As a reminder the TOCICO is voluntary and non-profit relying on the generosity of its membership.

I look forward to seeing friends again, renewing old friendships and meeting new friends. See you there.

Warmest Regards,

Daniel Walsh
TOCICO Chairman of the Board

The Odyssey Program
ODYSSEY 2011 ANNOUNCEMENT

  • Freshman Program: July 18th to July 22nd, 2011
  • Alumni Program: July 23rd to July 25th, 2011

WHAT IS THE ODYSSEY PROGRAM?

The Odyssey Program is a 5-day program that allows participants to apply the powerful insights and thinking processes of Theory of Constraints’s (TOC) to their own life journey. The program is open to everyone wanting to invest time to discover what really blocks them to set and achieve ambitious goals or make important decisions and how to practically challenge assumptions or overcome obstacles that hold us back from achieving more "goal units" or leading more fulfilling lives.

This program is aimed at helping attendees develop and apply critical thinking skills to discover the cause-effect patterns, generic conflicts and assumptions that limit success in the various aspects of their life (e.g. wealth, health and happiness) and discover how to practically break these conflicts in ways that do not have any major negatives and or major implementation obstacles.

Location: San Jose, California, USA

The Odyssey this year will take place in San Jose State University (SJSU), the oldest and one of the most prestigious universities in California, set in the heart of Silicon Valley.
